LEGAL TALK

Legal and business tips for small business owners, service providers, creators, and coaches when running ADS ONLINE.

One thing you want to do before you run ads is you want to make sure that your brand name and business name are available and scot-free.

The best way to do that is by registering for a trademark.

1. When you register for a trademark, this gives you the proper protection from someone saying you stole their brand or business or even capitalizing on your ADVERTISING money and exposure.

2. When you are running ADS for small business owners, you really have to make sure that your website or Lead page that you are using to sell your product or services has the proper terms, conditions, refunds, and disclaimers.

3. When running ADVERTISEMENTS, you are having a lot of eyes on your business.

You want to make sure that everything on your website, everything on your terms and conditions is not only legally compliant but clear.

4. Running ADS leads to more exposure.

The risk and issues attached to chargebacks, refunds, and unclear termination policy or unclear terms of agreement can be detrimental to your business and brand long term. Make sure your contracts and website terms are tight.

6. When you're running ADS, you also want to make sure that you consider any issues that may arise in what you are using/showing. For Example, if you are using a model does the contract reflect that you can use the images from the model for commercial usage?

7. Taking someone's tweet or review without their prior permission for commercial usage can cause problems.

You do not want your AD campaign to be affected or halted because of unauthorized usage of words or images of another.

8. Running ADs is an amazing way to get exposure for your business.

Grow your brand awareness and generate more leads, but as in every area of business failure to account for legal and business considerations can affect your bottom line and ROI.
